Greetings Everyone,
Day 5: Friday, September 18- Boulder>Broomfield>Westminster>Commerce City>Denver>Cherry Creek>Denver – 55 miles
Congratulations and Thanks!!
…to everyone for another safe and successful charity bike ride. Friday brought us to the finale of the 2009 Ride the Range charity ride and quite simply this would not be possible without the generous support of so many of you. We especially want to thank our sponsors, donors and most of all our support crew which includes van drivers Kris Anderson and Kevin Risen, scooter riders Kimberly Dolan and Rovena Flores, potty wagon drivers John Herman, Michelle O’Toole and Lisa Rice plus everyone behind the scenes who helped with the many intricacies and logistics of the ride.
Limited Edition Apparel Available
We have very cool T-Shirts ($20), Sweatshirts ($30) and Limited Edition Team Jerseys ($75) available to purchase with 100% proceed of each item going directly to our fundraising efforts. Let me know if you would like to make a purchase while supplies last.
The pledge site is still open and available for your final donations at http://www.cbridetherange.com. We will let you know the total fundraising proceeds in the next couple weeks once we total all the receipts.
This bring us to our final day, this past Friday morning, as we left Boulder for the last 55 miles of the 308 mile bike ride. Most riders seemed to have an extra little hop in their pedal power knowing the end was near. Heading south on the north section of the Platte river into Denver was a welcome site.
This year’s stop at Starbucks/REI included Iced Mochas and Iced Teas vs. last year it was all about the hot chocolate and coffees –what a difference in temps and weather this year over last.
Our arrival into the Devonshire office was included a tremendous, thunderous roar of cheering from a huge group of Devonshire agents, clients and friends. In true Devonshire fashion, in the heart of Cherry Creek, they hosted a fine champagne reception for sponsored riders Carrie Wernecke and Chris Matthews who ended pimped and diva’d out. Great fun was had and lots of money was raised. Nice job Devonshire – you were fantastic!!
The team of cyclist rode back up the Cherry Creek bike trail to Central Denver for the grand finale sponsored by Lala’s Wine Bar and courtesy of the Denver Central office. The agents/office challenged themselves to help rider Chris Mygatt raise at least $2500. If they did, Chris would dress up in a boa and angel wings. When we arrived Chris was drawn up in his fashionable attire.
Furthermore, Jason Peck upped the ante and challenged the office to help raise a total $3,000 and if they did he would shave his head balled. They were $300 short and in no time pulled it together. Need we say more?? Nice job everyone at Denver Central!!!
As we close this year’s Ride the Range, we hope you have found the daily email/blogs interesting and inspiring, but most importantly, we hope they have made you feel like you too were a part of this incredible journey and success story. This fundraiser is a team effort all the way through and it’s pretty special to see the camaraderie, the networking and excitement that it generates. It’s also great to see so many come together and volunteer their time and give from the heart during these otherwise tough economic times.
We are 70% of our total fundraising goal and are confident thanks to you we will hit 100% of our $35,000 goal. Please CLICK HERE to make a secured, online donation for as little or as much as you are comfortable with. You can donate ONLINE or by checks made payable to Coldwell Banker Community Fund and mailed to: Coldwell Banker Residential Brokerage Attn: Ride the Range - Todd Moir 600 Grant St, Suite 925. Denver, CO 80203
Together we can make a difference right here in Colorado. Thank you in advance for your help and generous support.

DAY 4: 2009 CB RIDE THE RANGE FOR CHARITY
Day 4: Thursday, September 17- Fort Collins> Loveland> Berthoud> Hygiene> Longmont> Westminster – 78 Miles
Another perfect day in Colorado for Riding the Range for charity and day for was set to be a long one however the best news we’ve all been safe with lots of good fundraising thanks to everyone. We’re 50% to our fundraising goal so please keep your generous donations coming and we’ll keep on riding towards our 300 mile mark. Every dollar counts… thank you!!
Fort Collins and Loveland had another stellar reception and send off with sponsored riders Mike Sibbald and Steve Balmer. Thanks for all the heartfelt love in Loveland.
Somehow Chris can’t go anywhere without his Starbucks tea… including a 300 mile bike ride. Todd’s dad joined us as well for part of the ride which was way cool.
The annual group of riders who peel off and hit Carter Lake tends to be growing each year. Carter Lake adds a few extra miles plus some major vertical feet up but just means for a fast down on the other side. Thanks to Lisa Rice with CB Home Warranty for our nutritional and potty support along the way.
It was on to Longmont and sponsored rider Christian Anderson who as an office are helping raise money for Homes for Our Troops. Check out their website http://www.homesforourtroops.org/site/PageServer?pagename=homepage to learn more about why we’re riding our bikes for one of this year’s beneficiaries. You will be awfully touched and moved when you see what this organization does. Just one more needy way your donations will be put to good use.
Even founders Coldwell and Banker got in on the action with a “virtual” conversion in Longmont about this year’s ride. Nice going guys and thanks for pulling for us.
We arrived into North Metro Denver which was sponsored by rider Thomas Dutzer. They hosted a rummage sale/silent auction of everything from yard signs to lock boxes to you name it… all to help Tom raise money for our goal. Nice job everyone!
Nothing like Carb-loading after a long day on the bike then at our favorite place in…Pasta Jay’s!! Thanks to Kim Junior, Pasta Jays sponsored dinner for all the riders on our final night in Boulder before the final stretch of this year’s Ride the Range into Denver on Friday. Pasta Jay’s is a huge community supporter and a great contributor to the ride. Thanks so much Jay!!

DAY 3: 2009 CB RIDE THE RANGE FOR CHARITY
Thank you again for your continued support and generous contributions as we pass through the half way mark of the 2009 Ride the Range Charity Bike Ride. If you have yet to check us out online be sure to visit the website to make your pledge for it’s not too late to click this link http://www.cbridetherange.com.
Day 3:
Stage One: September 16 – Evergreen>Genesee>Lookout Mountain>Golden>Broomfield>Boulder
Another spectacular start to the day as we pushed off out of Evergreen led by Evergreen sponsored rider Josette Montgomery however not before we indulged in fantastic morning burritos for breakfast provided by Noelle Lovato and Guardian Title.
During last year’s ride you may recall Brian Anzur left his keys in the car (and left it running)… well this year on this same day he was “running late” for our meeting place and experienced a slight run in with Denver’s finest…need we say more. J Thanks to our driver and Queen Chaperone Kris Anderson for taking good care of all of us along the tour while logging every step of the way. We simply couldn’t do it without you!!
Our annual signature day for Ride the Range takes us over the Genesee exit bridge followed by up and over Lookout Mountain.
We arrived in Boulder sponsored by rider Shane White and of course once went above and beyond with their sidewalk Oktoberfest. Thanks to Kim Junior and her family owned business Old Style Sausage for the best Brat’s on the planet (no joke). Everyone in Boulder did an excellent job!!! Thank you, thank you!!!!

DAY 2: 2009 CB RIDE THE RANGE FOR CHARITY
Day 2: Tuesday, September 15- Denver Tech Center > Highlands Ranch > Lakewood > Evergreen – 64 Miles
Tuesday began with another classic Colorado day – blue bird skies and not a cloud with temps in the low 60’s for starters and not as hot with highs in the low-mid 80s. After our morning briefing to the nineteen core and day riders combined we pushed off from the Denver Tech Center in Greenwood Village and made our way to Highlands Ranch for a breakfast presented by the entire SW Metro office. Let me tell you, this breakfast rivals anything I’ve seen in a very long time. In fact, if you’ve ever had, or seen, the Sunday Brunch at the Broadmoor….then you know what I’m talking about – incredible. The Highlands Ranch team rider is Todd Moir of the Coldwell Banker Corporate/Home Office.
Following the fantastic reception at the Highlands Ranch/SW Metro office we rolled on to the West Lakewood office but not before enjoying some spectacular scenery along the South Platte River to the Bear Creek Trail. From the Bear Creek Trail it was north along Kipling and a very nice uphill climb into Lakewood. The climb into Lakewood was barely a teaser for 3554’ vertical rise into Evergreen that was still lurking in the distance after our visit with the West Office.
The streets into the West Lakewood office were decorated and lined by the agents and staff with patriotic flags and helpful signs. We were greeted by a thunderous roar of supporters and onlookers complete with fanfare, brass band and confetti plus a delicious taco bar that was muy bueno ~ mucho gracias. Our Lakewood Team Riders are Keith Everitt, Kathy MacLeod and Bridget Slevin. Nice job everyone!
Did we mention our new and highly sophisticated support station and comfort wagon (AKA “potty wagon”) that has been made possible thanks to the CB Home Protection Plan Team? In years past we’ve had a 24’ RV however this year we picked up the portable outhouse on wheels for a “Better Experience J” thanks to the CB Home Warranty team.
From Lakewood West onward to Evergreen the climb through Morrison Canyon was awesome including the scenery and wildlife ~ thanks Josette for the real Elk.
Our arrival into Evergreen made for an end to a fantastic day of raising awareness and funds while riding 64 miles with 3554’ vertical rise. Plus the Evergreen office hosted a fantastic bar-b-cue party which was great appreciated at the end of a successful day!
Please take a moment to support our dedicated team of riders and learn more about the ride plus the beneficiaries by visiting our website at www.cbridetherange.com. Every penny helps in support and motivation. Stay tuned for more blogs, photos and videos.

DAY 1: 2009 CB RIDE THE RANGE FOR CHARITY
Hello Everyone,
With so many of you inquiring, contributing, sponsoring and donating towards this epic annual charity bike ride I will do my best to provide you with a few of the highlights, achievements, and photos of the 2009 Coldwell Banker Ride the Range. We will also be blogging with video and on Facebook as well. Enjoy…
Sunday, September 13- Prep Day and Overnight in Colorado Springs:
We loaded the trucks and support vehicles in South Denver/Denver Tech Center Sunday afternoon in nice weather following a very chilly and very rainy Saturday – thank goodness we got that out of the way. The moving truck, donated and sponsored by Jeff Moshea and Buehler Moving Company, moves our bikes as needed throughout the course of the ride plus we have gallons upon gallons of water supplied by sponsor Eldorado Spring Water Company in Boulder. After we checked in our hotel Marriott TownPlace Suites sponsored by Sage Hospitality we unloaded and made our way to The Trinity Brewery for dinner thanks to John Herman and American Home Shields.
It was back to the hotel to walk through our ride route for day one, support stations, safety tips, etc. over what else but fine wine and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. Hey, we’re burning thousands of calories over 300 miles so who’s counting, right?
A quick note about this year’s ride and our fundraising efforts; in addition to the number of Corporate Sponsors we have twenty-two dedicated riders each one representing one of our Coldwell Banker offices along the Front Range plus a number of additional day riders joining in on this great cause. Each rider is a sponsored rider committed to raising money for (and from) their office for our beneficiaries. Visit www.cbridetherange.com to meet our riders and make online donations.
Monday, September 14- Day One
Colorado Springs
As they say the third is a charm… the weather upon our awaking was nothing short of perfect. Big blue skies, bright sunshine and comfortable 56 degrees never looked or felt so good in Colorado Springs after the previous two years of rain, wind and frigid temperatures. We arrived to a warm welcome and a hearty breakfast on behalf of our Colorado Springs office and sponsored rider Camellia Coray. Breakfast was provided by the agents and Pulte Homes. The Colorado Springs teams did a fantastic job and are still taking your contributions online or by check for rider Camellia Coray.
From here we left Colorado Springs and headed north for Highway 83 to Parker some 55 miles to the north. Did I mention the weather was absolutely perfect?
Parker, Colorado
We made it to our next destination represented by Dawn Atchison and the Parker office. We were welcomed with a thunderous applause, a massage therapist and once again the best chili cook-off ever. Ride-the-Range t-shirts, sweatshirts and jerseys can be purchased through Dawn and the Parker office or you can still make your generous contribution (online or by check). It goes to show you what passion and enthusiasm can do…bravo to all of you and thank you so much for an amazing chili cook off. Dawn and the whole Parker office team were amazing!!
Denver Tech Center/SE Metro Denver
It was then on to the SE Metro/Denver Tech Center sponsored by rider/agents Brian Anzur and Scott Beville. We were welcomed by this amazing a fantastic BikeTober Fest in a park thanks to the magnificent weather. Tammy Adducci and the rest of the SE Metro agents put on a festive event to remember. Once again they pulled it off in true SE/Denver Tech Center style plus they will be counting the jersey, t-shirt and sweatshirt sales for days to come. Nice job Brian Anzur, Scott Beville and SE Metro!!
We can hardly convey to you the magnitude of the support and creativity we’ve seen along the way today. The route and weather were spectacular for the team and day one of this incredible fundraising cause.
Monday made for a 70 mile day and Tuesday will take us from the Denver Tech Center to Highlands Ranch to Lakewood West and a nice steady climb to Evergreen making for yet another challenging and rewarding day on the road bikes for charity.
Together we can make a difference. I thank you in advance for your help and generous support.
